Thursday Evening, September 18th

Things will start off early Thursday evening, September 18th, with a special “Early Bird Demonstration”. Usually, everyone arrives on Thursday afternoon and because, in the past, there has been little to do until the next morning, we decided to give you something interesting to do on Thursday evening. Walter Pall will be giving a demonstration during the evening and, as a special bonus, all Full Registrants who attend the demonstration will be entered into a drawing for the finished tree. The drawing will be held at the end of the evening.

Friday Morning, September 19th

Friday morning will start off with the scheduled workshops. We have procured some excellent material for the workshops and the guest artists will be ready to help you decide on the best way to style your tree. Register early to get the workshop of your choice.

Friday Afternoon, September 19th

Friday afternoon will be something a little different. Each registrant will select one of five classes on various topics that are being taught by our guest artists. The classes will be filled based on your registration date. Again, register early to get your first choice of classes.

Friday Evening, September 19th

A reception with light hors d’ oeuvres is scheduled for Friday evening. We also have a very special entertainment surprise for you; you will want to bring your camera for this. It goes without saying that this will be a great time to chat with old friends and make new friends.

Saturday Morning, September 20th

We know you want to see all the demonstrations and learn as much as you can, and we know there is never enough time to give the artists all the time they need to do a good job styling the tree; therefore we are presenting the demonstrations in a staggered start format. Walter Pall will lead the first demonstration which will start and continue in the front of the room for about an hour and a half. This will give everyone a chance to see the most informative part of the demonstration. Then, this demonstration will move to a side stage and continue with the work while Kathy Shaner begins the second demonstration on the main stage. The second demonstration will follow the same format, moving to a side stage after an hour and a half for continued work on the tree.

Due to overwhelming demand, we are adding a second Ponderosa Pine workshop led by Dennis Makashima, and a second Elm workshop led by David Rowe. Both of these workshops begin at 8:00 in the morning.

Saturday Afternoon, September 20th

After lunch, the demonstration work will continue in the back while on the main stage, Dennis Makashima will present a program on how to achieve excellent ramification on deciduous trees. This afternoon will also see Walter Pall critiquing the exhibits in the main hall.

Saturday Evening, September 20th

The evening begins with a cocktail hour and special entertainment. The evening banquet will include the presentation of the demo trees. The fun will continue with an evening raffle of surprises that include something for everyone.

Sunday Morning, September 21st

This final day begins with Kathy Shaner offering her critique of the exhibits in the Exhibit Hall. Walter Pall will conduct a "Bring Your Own Tree" workshop. If that were not enough, Dennis Makashima will host a round-table discussion on a topic yet to be determined. The Conference will conclude with a light brunch and a fond good-bye to friends until next year.
